The Way of a Woman by Jan Daley Enters Jazz Billboard Charts with Incredible Placements!

Jan Daley’s “The Way of a Woman” smooth jazz album just debuted at #6 on the Billboard Jazz Chart and #5 on the Billboard Traditional Jazz Chart. Standing between Jan and the #1 chart positions are less than 5 other artists’ releases, most notably Diana Krall, Norah Jones, Thelonious Monk and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. This is quite an accomplishment and a well deserved one at that for this independent artist whose career has spanned over five decades. She started off as the “singing canary” in her early twenties on Bob Hope’s USO Tour and has performed with countless huge names in both the acting and singing world. Additionally she also wore the crown as Miss California (yes, it was “Miss” Back then!) while attending college.

Her newest album stands out as yet another phenomenal release in a seemingly endless stream of phenomenal world-class smooth jazz. With six original tunes and five brilliantly adapted covers, “The Way of a Woman” is well worth a listen for even those who don’t normally listen to smooth jazz. If you haven’t done so yet, check out “The Way of a Woman” on iTunes.

If that’s not enough Jan for you, you can download the title song from her EP “When Sunny Gets Blue” FOR FREE from Noisetrade. To learn more about Daley and to keep up with her latest updates, check out her Facebook and her official website here: www.jandaley.com/.

Dave Bargeron and Geoff Alpert Bring Trombones Back to Popular Music

Trombones have long been under-utilized in music today. However, with dedicated players like Geoff Alpert and Dave Bargeron becoming more well known, the trombone may yet come back to the foreground. Geoff Alpert’s smooth jazz music has come from a long path of struggle. He lost his wife to cancer in 2002 after a long hiatus from music and, after this horrible event, found his way back to the musical community. The support he received from Darryl Williams and Gail Johnson allowed him to output his emotion and passion into smooth jazz music. He blended this with his love for the martial art Ken-Ka-Kung Fu and found a truly inspired fusion in his music.

The incredible way that Geoff works smooth jazz into R&B, pop, latin and funk grooves is remarkable and that he does this all with the trombone in the forefront of the sound is even more impressive. If you haven’t yet, you can listen to the album on iTunes, CD Baby  and Amazon.

Be sure to keep up with Geoff on Facebook, TwitterReverbnation and his official website www.GeoffAlpert.com for any updates.

Louis Armstrongs Well Deserved Praise of Jan Daleys Smooth Jazz Music

In the words of the great Louis Armstrong: She’s got a, “great big beautiful voice.”  And she really does.  What makes Jan Daley’s music so phenomenal, however, is her versatility.  She can put on a performance full of bravado and the next second move onto a tender smooth jazz ballad that would make the most stoic listener’s emotions swell. In a recent article by AXS Magazine, Daley is described as having, “mastery of dynamic vocal range,” and for, “fully embracing each note as the listener embarks on a heart touching journey with her.”

Daley’s new smooth jazz album features eleven songs- six of which were written by Daley herself.  The others are all incredible songs from the days of the Great American Songbook (a collection of the most popular songs and jazz standards from the early 20th century).  Jan studied for years under the mentorship of Jack Segal, the original writer of “When Sunny Gets Blue.”  Her extensive career and wealth of experience undoubtedly helped shape the exceptional smooth jazz artist Jan is today.

Easy Listening Pop Artist Wayne Reynolds Puts a Folk Spin on His Classic Love Songs

Image

Easy Listening Pop artist Wayne Reynolds puts a Folk spin on his classic love songs. Reynolds has re-released his album “Another Day Goes By” this year. It contains elements of Folk, Pop, Jazz, Classical, Bossa Nova, Oldies and more! He really pulls influences from his years playing classical guitar and being on the forefront of rock in Tennessee in the 60’s. You combine all of that and you get Wayne Reynolds! As an eclectic singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Reynolds has consistently avoided kowtowing to any brand of musical dogma throughout his musical career. I’m reminded,” muses Reynolds, “of the exhortation by none other than Bobby McFerrin that we should not live in the same musical room all the time. Walk around, don’t get stuck.”

There is no doubt that “Another Day Goes By” adheres to the open-ended artistic ethos that has sustained Reynolds since the beginning of his musical journey. You can listen, download, or order the album on iTunes and Amazon. You can also download his single “A Little Gray” for free on Facebook here.

You can connect with Wayne Reynolds on Facebook, Twitter, and ReverbNation.
