Rock Artist Rhett May Releases Hit Album Creatures of the Night

Great rock music can be hard to come by. Ever since the contemporary music evolved into a more electronically focused sound, classic rock has been falling in popularity. However, likely due to his long history of playing, listening to and writing rock music, Rhett May has done an incredible job of reviving the classic psychedelic rock sound from the past.

The album plays cohesively but, at the same time, many of the songs stand alone as incredible works as well. May successfully incorporates tones of jazz, pop and funk into many of the songs as well as inklings of eastern culture. This includes various sitar lines and eastern drum instrumentation. The most distinctly multi-cultural song in the album is called “Elixir of the Gods” and it is well worth your time to take a listen. Another highlight off the album is a tune called “Back Seat of My Chevy.” This song is mid-tempo with a chugging acoustic guitar sound. May’s vocals are perfectly tailored to each song individually and it is clear that the construction of every tune and the album as a whole was carefully planned.

Rhett May Releases Exceptional Creatures of the Night Rock Music Video

Rhett May has successfully written and released an album that challenges the cookie-cutter landscape of rock music today.  Rhett was originally born in Calcutta before moving to Australia.  He showcases the culture he was born into with his Sitar playing and also leaves no doubt about his love of classic rock.  His melodic lines are engaging and played with impressive mastery while still balancing perfectly with the distorted guitars and vocals.

Mays lyrics are top notch as well.  His observational writing is incredibly successful and, lyrically, his songs are all more than satisfactory.  If you enjoy the cohesive album writing of classic rock, Creatures of the Night should definitely be on your listening list.  Though the songs vary heavily in stylistic intent, orchestration and lyrical content- the album maintains an outstanding flow and will satisfy you from the first note of the first song until the reverb ends on the final track of the work.

Mass Text Singer Tay Allyn Talks to Tim Conway Jr and Gets Mentioned By Joel McHale While Her Viral Video Reaches 1,000,000 Views

Image

Pop recording artist Tay Allyn’s latest video “Mass Text,” a catchy song and equally attention grabbing video about being left out of a mass text party invite, instantly went viral on YouTube within a week of being posted.  Now, it’s already reached over 1,000,000 views!  The big questions on everyone’s mind remain: “is this a joke?”, “Does she know this is about the worst video EVER?”  “Is she channeling Rebecca Black?”, “She’s not serious, is she?”  A quick look at the comments posted on Tay’s video and it’s clear that many YouTube users love to hate on Tay and her knack for creating pop music that’s like “Ke$ha without the sex, and Lady Gaga without the avant garde.”  Tay delivers a sassy yet relatable attitude while singing about the mundane things in everyday life.

Tay was on CNN’s Showbiz Tonight less than one week after posting the video. Everyone on Showbiz Tonight wanted to find out where this girl came from and tried to answer all the questions and get to the bottom of it!  Tay was also recently featured on Tim Conway Jr.’s Podcast and she’s been “critiqued” by The Soup’s Joel McHale.  See what the comedian had to say about Tay here.  Tay was also featured on LiveStarringYou.com.

Here’s what we’ve learned from her recent interviews…Growing up Tay was not the most popular girl – she was called worse than “chubby” and wore an eye patch for medical purposes from the time she was 4 until well into middle school. However, after overcoming the adversity and the bullying and gaining confidence in herself as she journeyed through graduating the University of Southern California and addressing the commencement audience of over 5,000, she has completely changed her image and (late) blossomed to become a beautiful confident woman.  Afraid of being bullied now?  Not this girl!  Bring it on!

Like it or hate it, she’s clearly is making a name for herself.  Question is, what else has she got?  And will it be something more viable than this?  Or is she a one hit wonder that will disappear into obscurity.  Guess we’ll have to wait and see!

Only at radio for a few weeks, Eric Dill’s “War With The Wolves” has entered the Top 100 on the Top 40  (genre) radio chart!  Only 5 of the Top 100 are not with a major label group – Eric being one of them.  Clearly an accomplishment of epic proportions, the Top 100 includes: Adele, Rhianna, Gym Class Heroes, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Usher, Train, One Direction, Nicki Minaj, Linkin Park, Jason Mraz, David Guetta, Maroon 5, OneRepublic, Chris Brown, Bruno Mars, Maroon 5, Eric Dill and others – all top performers.

Eric Dill, himself a platinum artist (for the single “Just The Girl” when he was a part of The Click Five) establishes his own sound, in his own way, on his new solo record “Forever Is Not Enough” coming out on November 20th.

For his new release, his independent record label is going all out with an intimate Private VIP Record Release party at the Gibson Showroom and one lucky fan will win 2 passes to it (you’ll need to make your own way to LA as transportation is not included if you win).   It’s going to be in Beverly Hills, CA on the evening of Thursday, November 15th.  He’ll be performing at the Release party with his band electrically and also doing a few acoustic songs.  The place only holds 99 people so it will be such a special treat!

Rock Artist Eric Dill, Formerly of The Click Five Launches Solo Career With Songs at Gene Simmons Rocktoberfest

An evening of good food, great beer, even greater music at Gene Simmons & Wolfgang Puck’s Rocktoberfest at LA Live – I recommend attending next year if they do it again!

What particularly got me to commit to attending is that I saw that Eric Dill who used to be the lead singer for the Click Five was performing.   I’ve been a big fan since I first heard him in the early 2000’s.  Eric did not disappoint!  He totally rocked the house with his renditions of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing”, Radiohead’s “Creep” and (I think it’s by the Outfield) “Your Love”.

He was backed by some of the all star band that Simmons put together for the event,  Eric Dover/Guitar (Slash’s Snake Pit, Jellyfish), Brent Woods/Lead Guitar (played with Vince Neil), Michael Devin (Whitesnake and European sensation Steamroller), Matt Laug/Drummer (Alanis Morissette, Christina Aguilera, Richard Marx, etc.), Teddy Andreas/Keyboards (appeared with Carole King, Slash, Ziggy Marley, etc)  and  Big Jim Wheeler/Sax (has toured  with:  Kenny Loggins, Loggins and Messina, ABC, Slash’s Snake Pit).

Eric just released his first solo (Halloween) single “War with the Wolves”.  The full album I hear will be out in November with all originals (not covers).  Watch the video here it’s sure to become a cult classic!
