Geoff Alpert’s New Album Open Your Heart Will Make You Fall In Love With The Trombone Again

Geoff Alpert’s new album Open Your Heart is one for the ages. It isn’t your average smooth jazz album. It’s a smooth jazz album that has a contemporary vibe, funky tunes, and of course it has Geoff Alpert himself showing off his talent with the trombone! Really making his music stand out of the crowd, and drawing that crowd in!

Although the album is rooted in smooth jazz, Alpert utilizes many different styles, which results in a dynamic and engaging musical fusion.  The album is accessible to many and will appeal to those who love smooth jazz as well as those who love funk, pop and many other styles.  The album features the solo trombone, which is also a refreshing change from the more conventional solo instruments of smooth jazz.

If you haven’t yet, you can listen to the album on iTunes, CD Baby  and Amazon.

Geoff Alpert’s Smooth Jazz Fusion Album Open Your Heart Impacts Music Scene

It is truly rare to find the kind of dedication and emotional investment in music that Geoff Alpert displays with every note he plays.  After a 30 year hiatus from music when Geoff dedicated himself as a husband and a father, he has returned to the scene and brought with him a groovy smooth jazz based sound that features the trombone and that is making a huge impact on the smooth jazz scene.  Although Geoff’s music contains some very smooth jazz-oriented grooves, he pushes himself to incorporate other genres such as R&B, which results in a beautiful fusion of genres.

Geoff lost his wife to cancer in 2002 and, after soul searching, was motivated to re-join the musical community.  He took the emotion and passion from this loss and, after meeting director Gail Johnson and bassist Darryl Williams, was lead to create a musical statement and image that closely ties to his life story.  Geoff’s passion for the spiritual Eastern Martial Arts discipline is also an integral part of his music and inspiration.

You can listen to the album on iTunes, CD Baby and Amazon.

My Favorite Smooth Jazz Bassist Mitchell Coleman Jr. Is Getting Airplay Around The Country!

top Album on CDBaby

My all time favorite smooth jazz bassist Mitchell Coleman Jr. is getting played on the radio all around the country! His new single “Flow” off of his debut solo album “Soul Searching” has jazz and blues fans going crazy. And I don’t blame them, the song is addictive. It’s been on repeat on my phone for I don’t even know how long. I’ve been keeping up the charts, and right now Mitchell is #40 on Mediabase’s Smooth A/C chart, #24 on SmoothJazz.com’s Radar Chart, and #1 at The Wave in Cleveland! And let’s not forget the numerous national Smooth Jazz radio stations and Billboard reporting stations that he’s getting played on too. See what everyone’s talking about and check out “Flow” on iTunes.

Mitchell has a Facebook, Twitter and website www.MitchellColemanJr.com if anybody wants to look up more info about him.

If you think Luther Vandross is amazing you’ve Got to Check out Randy Wilson’s new Single “Life Goes On” off the CD “Up close and personal due out on September 31

"Life Goes On"

Singer/songwriter Randy Wilson, has often been criticized in the past as sounding too much like the amazing Luther Vandross, which, while a top notch compliment; he felt that he could still sound true to his voice which sounds like the amazing Vandross but could certainly add his own signature sound as well. Now, working to develop his own personalized sound, Randy Wilson is poised and ready to step onto the music scene in a big way.

Judge for yourself, here’s a link to the single “Life Goes On”

He and Producer, Robert Anderson, just wrapped up his second project “Up Close and Personal” for which he wrote all the songs and it is set to release September 31, 2010. The single “Life Goes On” is already out and receiving critical acclaim.

Randy’s rising stardom is evident as he was recently invited to share the stage at the Conga Room in LA with R&B greats Stevie Wonder, Lenny Williams, D’Wayne Wiggins of Toni! Tony! Tone!, Jamie Fox and Raphael Saadiq in a benefit fundraiser; raising a record amount.
His video is pretty cool; about when he came home to find all his girlfriend’s stuff was gone and so was she. View it here
