Jan Daley Impresses Listeners with Smooth Jazz Music

If you love classic Bette Midler, you should give Jan Daley’s new smooth jazz album When Sunny Gets Blue a listen! Daley takes on a collection of tunes from the Great American Songbook and, as usual, blows audiences away with her immaculate smooth jazz music that people have come to expect.

Daley’s friendship with the original writer/producer of the title track (the late Jack Segal) resulted in one of the most intimate and personally connected jazz albums to be released in recent years.

If you love smooth jazz, you can download her single When Sunny Gets Blue at no cost from Noisetrade here: http://bit.ly/JD-FreeSong.  Also keep up with Jan on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/jandaleymusic/ and on her website here: www.jandaley.com/.

I’m Always Looking For More American Standards Covers Like Annie Lennox’s New Album Nostalgia

Delilha by Lynne Peters Holdeman-164

I’m always trying to keep my eyes peeled for artists doing covers of American standards like from the Great American Songbook, they’re my absolute favorite! I just loved Annie Lennox’s latest standards album Nostalgia which led me to discover this phenomenal singer Delilah. Delilah just released an EP titled “Sarah +1, A Tribute to Sarah Vaughan” where she does these lovely covers of some Sarah Vaughan hits. The plus 1 track is a beautiful rendition of Charlie Chaplin’s Smile from the movie Modern Times. How cool is that? You can listen to Smile on Soundcloud (it’s my favorite off the album!)

I found out about Delilah from listening to Martini in the Morning, cause the host Brad Chambers said “The charts and her vocals underscore Delilah’s commitment to taking timeless tunes like Charlie Chaplin’s music, John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons’ lyrics and making her ‘Smile’ a totally new creation. She’s fresh, she’s contemporary, she respects the heritage of these ‘Great American Songbook’ titles.” I’ve been hooked ever since! She also has a Facebook and website www.DelilahMusic.com. If you loved what you heard, you can get “Sarah +1” on iTunes

Romani Gypsy Artist Delilah Creates Dance and Pop Inspired Smooth Jazz Album Sweeter Life

Delilah delivers timeless vocals reminiscent of legendary jazz artists and sings from her enchanted Gypsy soul spinning tales and delivering the history of the Roma in the modern world with the release of “Sweeter Life.” Heavy-hitting producers on the album include Vikter Duplaix, Marcus Kane, Rane Parish, Lemoyne Alexander, and Dave Sereny.  Featured artists include the Stevie Wonder rhythm section of Nathan Watts and Stanley Randolph.

Born in Budapest, Hungary, Delilah had to flee her home country due to racial tension and now lives in Toronto, Canada. Delilah inherited her gift of music from her parents, who immersed her in performing from an early age. By the age of 10, she was singing and dancing with her family in a 20-member touring ensemble with one of Hungary’s noted Roma performers, Bongo Margit, throughout Europe. By the time she was 16, she and her older brother Paul Lakatos, a guitar virtuoso, were performing with violinist Sonny Walker, another Roma legend, who jammed regularly with her father and family at impromptu gatherings in her home.

Delilah has refined her music to a beautiful smooth jazz and pop sound. She will be performing this summer in Philadelphia at Warmdaddy’s on Thursday June 20th. There you’ll get to hear her striking voice in person while she pours her heart and soul into her performance. What a treat! If you’re in the Philly area, you should definitely come and enjoy this Hungarian beauty.
