Bob Marley’s Reggae Tune “Jammin’” Reimagined By Toronto-based Smooth Jazz Musician Dave Sereny

Our dreams have come true! Toronto’s Dave Sereny has released a new single off his highly anticipated album, Talk to Me. The track titled, Jammin’ is a Bob Marley cover and could not be more appropriately named. This reggae infused, soulful, rock jam has you swaying to the guitar strums while you soak up the tropical vibes Marley cultivated.

On such an iconic track, Sereny still makes it his own. His guitar skills take front row while the airy vocal accompanyment create an angelic ambiance.

“Sereny’s work is remarkable…including [his cover of] Bob Marley’s “Jammin’”, which stays true to the original with splendid smooth vocal overlay” –  Stu Berketo, Wave.fm 94.7/95.9 HD2

Jammin’ comes off Sereny’s second album “Talk To Me”, released 12 years since his wildly popular album “Take This Ride”. Makes sense when you account for the fact that Sereny is a frequent performer and a touring veteran of multiple jazz festivals. In 2019, it’s great to see that Sereny gives jazz music a fresh spin while never sacrificing his craft.

Listen to Jammin’ on Spotify or check out the full album on iTunes. Be sure to also check out Dave’s website and Twitter  for all his updates!

Newly Released Single by Toronto Jazz Musician Dave Sereny, “Come Here Baby” Perfectly Encapsulates Jazz with Soul and Rock Influences

Toronto’s own Smooth Jazz musician Dave Sereny released his new single “Come Here Baby” is amazingly soulful that reminds me of jazz pieces from Wes Montgomery and Miles Davis.

“Come Here Baby” is a pure single that is created solely from Dave Sereny. A truly talented musician, who not only wrote but also composed and performed the entire album including his latest single “Come Here Baby”.  This single is a wonderfully written song with soulful romantic lyrics that would make you want to play this on repeat around the house.

With his amazing vocals to incredible melodic guitar licks that can be compared to Santana, Sereny provides us with a perfect song to sit around the fireplace while being completely immersed in a good book. The relaxing and soothing energy that Dave brings out not only has a jazz feel but also influences from soul and rock. Award winning Sereny is one modern jazz musician that will take you on a variety of journeys though his music and various tempos.

The Way of a Woman by Jan Daley Enters Jazz Billboard Charts with Incredible Placements!

Jan Daley’s “The Way of a Woman” smooth jazz album just debuted at #6 on the Billboard Jazz Chart and #5 on the Billboard Traditional Jazz Chart. Standing between Jan and the #1 chart positions are less than 5 other artists’ releases, most notably Diana Krall, Norah Jones, Thelonious Monk and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. This is quite an accomplishment and a well deserved one at that for this independent artist whose career has spanned over five decades. She started off as the “singing canary” in her early twenties on Bob Hope’s USO Tour and has performed with countless huge names in both the acting and singing world. Additionally she also wore the crown as Miss California (yes, it was “Miss” Back then!) while attending college.

Her newest album stands out as yet another phenomenal release in a seemingly endless stream of phenomenal world-class smooth jazz. With six original tunes and five brilliantly adapted covers, “The Way of a Woman” is well worth a listen for even those who don’t normally listen to smooth jazz. If you haven’t done so yet, check out “The Way of a Woman” on iTunes.

If that’s not enough Jan for you, you can download the title song from her EP “When Sunny Gets Blue” FOR FREE from Noisetrade. To learn more about Daley and to keep up with her latest updates, check out her Facebook and her official website here: www.jandaley.com/.
