This is quite an accomplishment and a well deserved one at that for this independent artist whose career has spanned over five decades. She started off as the “singing canary” in her early twenties on Bob Hope’s USO Tour and has performed with countless huge names in both the acting and singing world. Additionally she also wore the crown as Miss California (yes, it was “Miss” Back then!) while attending college.

Smooth Jazz Artist Jan Daley Releases Special Memorial Day Tribute Song

Jan’s newest album titled “The Way of a Woman” continues to make its way onto the smooth jazz radio airwaves with more and more stations adding her album into the mix. The album which consists of the songs off her “When Sunny Gets Blue” EP PLUS 6 new songs that Jan wrote herself.

 

One particular track that you’ll find on the record called “The One She’s Been Waiting For” has received a little bit of a remix that makes the song very personal for Jan. She has released a special Memorial Day version of the song that you can now purchase on CD Baby.  She made a few lyric changes in touching tribute to all the men, women, families and friends of the Armed Forces including her father who perished in Germany in 1945 while on a mission to pick up P.O.W’s, after World War II, whom she never got a chance to meet. This March 31, Jan Daley will release the next great smooth jazz album titled  “The Way of a Woman.”  It builds upon her previously released five-track EP “When Sunny Gets Blue” with six brand new tracks inspired by music from the Great American Songbook (music of the early 20^th century by prominent artists such as Cole Porter, Rodgers and Hammerstein and others).  Jan Daley has worked with many of these artists and was under the mentorship of the great Jack Segal for many years before he died.  Jan Daley even performed with Bob Hope back in his days of touring the USO.

Daley’s experience is unmatched in the smooth jazz scene and she consistently continues to release some of the best smooth jazz available today.  Her sound reminisces back to a time long ago where artists like Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong owned the airways and the Great American Songbook was only an idea in progress.
